One of the biggest moves of the 2027 NHRA silly season is already official. Eight-time Top Fuel world champion Tony Schumacher has signed a multiyear agreement to drive for Tony Stewart Racing beginning next season.
Schumacher brings 88 national-event victories and decades of championship experience to the organization. He will take over the TSR Dodge Top Fuel seat after Leah Pruett completes the 2026 campaign.
Pruett said she is stepping away from driving to focus on expanding her family with Tony Stewart, but she is not retiring from the sport. She is expected to remain involved with the team while Schumacher begins the next chapter of his career.
